Why are we losing so much forest lately?

Indonesia lost 261,575 hectares in 2024, marking the highest rate since 2021.

Deforestation and colonialism.

Half of the world’s forests were destroyed during the 20th century, some for ‘plantation development’. Back then, Asians were labelled as “coolies”.
