Yeah, we’re far away from that here in Canada and don’t see a clear strategy to get it done responsibly.

Unprofitable maybe… but to reach 60% of reliable renewable energy and 25% will take time and a lot of natural resources. In the short term and in the long term peakers will secure the grids and prevent blackouts.

Interesting to see that even though the “rooftop solar” is producing peak power the gas plants still have to run for what appears to be battery charging demand… at least the coal is throttled back quite a bit during the day… #smallwins

We just ditched our PHEV, when on battery it was okay, but it was a pig on gas as soon as we ran out of range… or it was cold out.
