I had this problem with normal-ass Firefox for the past few weeks, and it was only resolved by turning off my VPN *before* going onto the website. Turning it off while on it didn't work. No idea if that's what fixed it or if it was just a coincidence but trying a bunch of other things didn't, so.

Well I do that so yes it's normal.

The exception is that I've found canned chickpea juice sometimes adds a weird bitter note so I usually strain them a bit.

Depends on what I'm making. If the beans need to be separate and the finished thing is relatively dry like in flautas, then I just strain but usually don't rinse unless it's very thick. In a chili or refried or in other wet foods I just dump the whole thing, though. Same for the soak water with dry.
