Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

There was a flock of robins in the yard this morning, looking floofy and eating from the neighbor's privet hedge. This is the earliest I've noticed them, but apparently they're pretty impervious to the cold and just go where there's food.

This is why you don't comply in advance.
NEW: The Trump administration is now bragging about hospitals that are preemptively pausing, reviewing, or stopping gender-affirming medical care for those under 19 following Trump's anti-trans executive order relating to health care, asserting, "Promises made, promises kept."

Saying it louder: Utah has banned TWO MORE BOOKS from public schools *in the entire state*.

These are YA books that were available only to high schoolers.

TWO schools in the state are responsible for over 80% of the state-mandated book bans.

So much for "local control."

@massago.bsky.social Thank you for all your hard work! I hope you will address the massive data breach at the Treasury. It seems like Musk and his team must be violating MA data security laws.

If you know enough to know you don't know enough about water management in California, congratulations, you're smarter than the president.

Dear @warren.senate.gov @markey.senate.gov @neal.house.gov,
This morning, doctors at Boston Children's Hospital began calling patients and their parents to cancel their appointments for gender affirming care.

Email I just sent my elected officials, a thread: Defeating the Nazis is one of the best things the United States has ever done. Standing against Nazis isn't a liberal thing, it's an AMERICAN thing.

Okay, I'm getting a ton of spam follows, which is to be expected -- but why are literally ALL of the women named some version of Alex?! So weird.

"At best, no one has fact checked this number in 20 years. At worst, it's made up."
So in all the discourse over how men don't read, I've noticed something weird.

All the articles about this issue say that there are multiple studies showing women account for 80% of fiction sales. But none of them link to the studies — just to each other. www.vox.com/culture/3929...
Are men’s reading habits truly a national crisis?
The questionable statistic at the heart of the “men don’t read fiction” discourse.

Hippos are such great role models. They eat their fill, know how to relax, are excellent at holding their boundaries, AND they sweat out their own sunscreen. Goals, right?!

I love my @thestorygraph.com year in review! This mood map is pretty funny though. I legit listened to three Lady Hardcastle mysteries in December but apparently it wasn't enough to counteract the plague novel and the slow collapse novel. #booksky

AOC comes out swinging against a Nancy Mace for targeting Sarah McBride.

"They're doing this so that Nancy Mace can ... fundraise off an email. They're not doing this to protect people. They're endangering women, they're endangering girls of all kinds. And everybody should reject it. It's gross."

Our air quality had been fine despite the 1000+ acre #ButternutFire in Great Barrington, but around 2:30 the winds shifted and the smoke blew in FAST and surrounded us. Popped my mask on while we finished putting up the cross ties on the new high tunnel, bc asthma.
