I’ve not really been using this much, but lately I’ve been in the mood to talk musicals. During lockdown some friends and I exchanged a show tune a day (film musicals included) and it’s one of the only parts of 2020 I look back on wistfully, so I think I might start doing that on here for a while.
I held the camera. I was told where to point it.

So this is not the sort of number I lean towards usually. There’s hardly any character or narrative - it’s a dance number, and it sets a tone. I love how slowly it builds, I love the costumes, I love the camerawork. Great fun.

So this is not the sort of number I lean towards usually. There’s hardly any character or narrative - it’s a dance number, and it sets a tone. I love how slowly it builds, I love the costumes, I love the camerawork. Great fun.

Sadly I’m not actually a “proper” musicals nerd, insofar as the later Sondheim shows still baffle me, Passion included. Which is a shame, as it got Donna Murphy her Tony award and I love her. Here she is doing an old Rosalind Russell classic.

🥛: don’t drink it on its own, but can easily get through a pint a day in tea

☕️ warm drinks: constant supply of tea (no sugar); coffee if I need caffeine only.

Our most majestic Monty had to be put to sleep yesterday. Sad doesn’t begin to cover it & it will take a long time to get used to his absence from our daily lives. But we were lucky to enjoy his company for 11 of his 15 years & he will always be with us. With @aglmasters.bsky.social.
