JD Kirk has written a series of crime novels about a detective called Jack Logan, set in the north around Fort William. They deal with very disturbing crimes, yet are hilarious. Bob Hoon started in the Logan series but ended up with his own mini series. My favourite author in this genre by a mile.

JD Kirk wrote a whole book with Eastgate as the location. Bob Hoon is the very, very sweary central character and it’s hilarious.
