Mobile phones peaked at this size.

Give me one with limited smartphone functionality and this size, and I’ll be set for life.

The most obviously AI image I've seen in the wild.

I have a bag full of these microfiches in my office from reverse garbage years ago.

Got ideas on what I can make with them?

Have just seen a photo of Gavin Newsom for the first time and realised my brain has been picturing Newt Gingrich instead each time I hear/read his name.

Further on the ICJ Advisory Opinion, huge kudos to Pacific Island Students Fighting Climate Change (www.pisfcc.org) for instigating it and to @rregenvanu.bsky.social and the Government of Vanuatu for pushing it forward.

I'm not sure which paragraph of this article is most disturbing, but this is one sure is up there.

Yesterday’s trip to the book fair finally provided me with the last in the How Green was my Valley series by Richard Llewellyn. I read the first book in my 20s and only then realised how much Welsh heritage had subconsciously infiltrated my brain. The language felt oddly comforting.

Mark Lal is doing good work on social media raising awareness and trying to destigmatise HIV+ status - www.facebook.com/profile.php?...

So much more work to urgently be done on prevention and other aspects too.

It's clearly a day for sighting men in extremely ill-fitting outfits.

Today the hands were gone from the street pole, but were sighted on a tree.

A new installation was a small pile of mulch on a nature strip, topped by a handwritten sign.

The neighbourhood’s weird street art continues.

I’m choosing to take this one as a commentary on the suffocating ubiquity and ultimate uselessness of AI.

I read the entirety of Wild Things by @lauraekay.bsky.social yesterday. The first book I’ve done that with for years. The right book, just when I needed it. A great way to round out 2024. Here’s to more queer reading in 2025 🌈

Opened a handbag I haven’t used since early plague times. It contained a notebook with this ominous message on the front, which had a draft COVID policy and union meeting notes inside. There were also a surprising number of sanitary products.

Recalling the fight we had to decriminalise abortion in Qld only a few years ago, I’m heartened to see folks rallying so soon to fight its repeal under the new LNP state government #ProChoiceQld
