so many modern creators, from every end of the political spectrum, write to cater to this sort of audience & corporate expectations, resulting in rabid, toxic audiences springing up around any scrap of around shallow, inoffensive to its audience content that taps their now narrow(ed) interests

badly written, unless said character also arouses/is relatable to them, then theyll twist themselves in knots to defend them, treating w/e they project onto them as textual while never going deeper than the surface

& the modern entertainment industry encourages & seeks out that reaction for profit
