Not quite what I thought. I think the girl on that last panel reminded of someone because it's a common character design.

She should've obliterated Megaleg (that's the name of the robot) just by looking at it. She put way too much effort into it.

As for why, I don't know. Canadian Usito has the meaning "for a short time", the Trésor has it but says "rare, literary" (outdated imo) but nothing from the two most read (Larousse, Robert). Funny enough, the 9th edition of the dictionary of the Académie does have it, without usage notes.

It's ambiguous whether French Wiktionary has it registered. It has the definition "in a few words, briefly" and its two examples can be seen as meaning "in a few words" fr.wiktionary.org/wiki/bri%C3%...

Tout dépend donc du point de vue selon lequel on se place.

C'est donc la même ligature que dans curriculum vitæ, je vois. Pour ce qui est de la prononciation, ce n'est pas tout à fait exact. Il existe encore des locuteurs (est de la France, Belgique et Suisse) pour qui les finales -é et -ée sont dictinctes à l'oral.

Et ça se prononce comment ? 😅
