Inside there are no pages, only a swirling mass of blackest weave that pounces - its teeth, its claws, it's unstoppable as it digs through you and gods is it ever hungry Tav's a little incredulous that Gale has been hiding this the whole time, and he's like hmm can you really talk though, you have a tadpole in your head Gale says "we are none of us monsters, we are merely hatcheries for monsterous things" and maybe because it's paired with is sad cow eyes but Tav's in love

Gale apologizes for asking a lot (needing to eat magic artifacts) without providing any answers Tav's a-okay with it because she's happy to help (and kind of a hoarder) A grateful Gale does what he does best and bows in appreciation... ...which Tav finds a little awkward if not the littlest bit charming. Like the tiniest bit.
