It may be because the nature of Japanese is more "square", so the vertical height is more consistent, but I'm pretty sure the Japanese font is *bigger* too.

Good news, my own visual novel project doesn't currently bring up Schroedinger's Cat at all. It's mostly obsessed with Plato's Cave instead.

Even in visual novel adaptations, there's no escaping the cat.
I have completed Silent Hill f, the first SH I've played to completion. It was an excellent time. It very clearly has R07's thumbprint, and that evidently doesn't vibe with some people, but I am all for it.
The pervy dog-noise-making enemies can eat my ass though.
