So excuse my overall scepticism that this deal, considering it has been brokered by a xenophobic, Islamophobic, far-right, ignorant bigot is going to bring a safe, stable and just future for Palestine and the Palestinians.

Just in: Spain will most likely announce their #Eurovision withdrawal tomorrow.

This will make Spain the first (and, so far, the only) Big Five country pulling out. Big blow for Eurovision's viewing numbers *and* finances.

Liam, Israel has participated uninterruptedly between 2000 and 2023. Ireland had plenty of chances to withdraw within that period claiming poor results.

In 2024, Ireland hit 6th place with a major success. Their recent track record is pretty favourable, yet they will still withdraw and we know why.

Spain's withdrawal from #Eurovision would be a massive blow to the contest. Not only due to the massive crowds of Spaniards gathering in front of the TV every year, but also because Eurovision would be losing one of its Big 5 contestants—with all the financial/sponsorship havoc this would entail.

Demencial.
