Update on Charci! Bloodwork done and beautiful. No redflags pointing to FIP, she’s not anemic, and no pressure on the eye so she won’t have to lose it at this time. FIV/FeLV- but her blood coagulates quickly. She has started exploring the house in small doses and nothing slows her down

I’ve been really bad at social media since starting my job at animal control, but I wanted to share my new foster Charci with you! She is blind, might be able to tell light/dark and is only about 3 months old. Bloodwork today postponed due to fever, will try again later next week

Some update on fosterling Prim! Last Wednesday she weighed in at 2.6lbs, and likes sitting next to me on the couch (NOT in lap, do not approve of laps. She snuck in behind Tamera, and got bathed for her trouble. This morning she was 2.86lbs! So spay will likely be in 2 weeks.

We were told Flynn (Mt Cur on the right) would be a medium sized dog, just Harper’s (brindle pibble on left) size. At least she has enough personality that he doesn’t trample her? Also would have liked honesty.

Prim got a reprieve! I weighed her this morning and she is about half what she should be for her age (5ish months and 2.3lb), we try to wait for 3lb so boss had me cancel her spay. Sleepless night for me / no food for her last night for nothing but I’ll take it. Hanging out with the big kitties

Tomorrow Prim goes in for her spay, & I’m having a bit of PTSD over it. Last kitten I had that was spayed started losing all of her teeth a week after, screaming in pain. Vet immediately, no cause found, just nosedived hard & had to euthanize. Likelihood of a repeat is low, but… Miss you Kitiara

Discovered a critical failure in design. There is no solid frame, so if another cat lays on top the whole thing collapses. I will be making a lightweight frame from 1/4” pvc, but until then Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything & Volo’s Guide to Monsters stand tall at the front and back.

He just sent me the picture of his probes. Took half a leg of 480 from left pinky to left tricep where he was leaning against a guide wire ~15 ft up. A new meter was bought that day

One thing I noted with having a foster kitten: making a playpen setup at home and work is time consuming, especially when home one is a large canvas dog kennel. Collapsing it / transporting it takes time. So I bought a carrier with fold out sides.

Today Prim got to see the big house (instead of the spare room / canvas kennel she has been limited to). She stayed with me on the couch because I was so stiff after work I didn’t think I’d make it off the floor if I sat with her. She kept hugging my arm until I wrapped it around her

Hi folks! I’ve made it over so for my 1st post, welcome to my new job working at a local animal control. I’m a month in and have already broken my no fosters rule. Day 1 & Day 5 of this adventure with Prim. Floating patella, fractures in growth plates, femoral issues. We have Meloxicam & Mirataz
