We had a cooler than normal, dry summer. With these conditions there were many more black widows around the house. It must be perfect for them to proliferate. Here is one I relocated further away so hopefully it finds another location to overwinter rather than my basement! #spiders #nature #Okanagan

Finally got a photo of one of the young great horned owls. I hear them every night down at the creek, but recently they have been calling throughout the day too. What a beautiful bird! #birds

Wow, such terrible news for Veselinovic and the Whitecaps! He was having a career year and has been so important to the Whitecaps success. Hope someone can step up and fill his shoes. #VWFC

There is an eagle's nest on the east side of my property and today there was a very bold red tail hawk attacking one of the adults eagles above the nest! Pretty interesting to observe. #birds

Did a hike up Enderby Cliffs today. It was a little toasty (35 C)! Lots of wildflowers blooming along the trail. Also spotted a few insects.
