Everyone on my skyline is older than ICE. We lived a life without them and nothing has improved with their existence: housing is not cheaper, healthcare is not more accessible, and we are not more secure. Abolish ICE and it is your moral duty to oppose them kidnapping and trafficking people.

My life has been so consistently wild (989 days, but still less than 3 years since I moved home) I forgot to mention *surgery* I had in September. As in 2.5 months ago.
So many people have helped balance these events so that I can stay on mission but this last 12% is make or break.

What's exciting is *I don't actually have any* open addendum requests, so getting paid is no longer something I can take for granted, when I both need to move ASAP, and I'm an early career person who needs to lock down transportation in order to work.

I think I became convinced that most of the United States is an anti-human hellscape when I worked in refugee resettlement. Seeing that Afghan family who went from rural Kandahar to the Red Roof Inn off the interstate. The look on their faces when I dropped them off. Dark fucking shit.
Listen, I was there when the first afghans evacuees got off the plane at Dulles in late July 2021. But a few months later we had nice liberals in the community asking us if they could host a Ukrainian family. "What about Afghan or Congolese?"

For hospital workers to go on strike, the conditions must be B A D since we are basically used to verbal and sometimes physical abuse, short staffing, bad pay, and lateral violence at baseline. It’s not a decision that is made lightly and it doesn’t make us selfish. We strike because we care.

Because folks are rushing to rehabilitate Nazis but just casually mocking folks who are being purposely undereducated for decades
