The same way the rest of us plebs do!

Stuff randomly shows up in your OTHER Evil Algorithm (youtube), your friends recommend you something, or you hear something good on the radio. XD

Going by context clues, it's a conspiracy I was originally not believing in because "They could have just made it easy and waited" seemed more plausible...

But at this point I can't help but start leaning the other way. :o

I know the feeling. I see the "chatbot became a lonely person's only friend, and then drove them to off themselves" stories and I'm convinced that if that tech had existed when I was a deeply bullied teenager, there's a real chance I might have been a headline. x_x

Which is amazing, since apparently the "three cueing method" for "teaching" reading that's made a lot of people only able to "read by vibes" seems to date back to the 80s. :o

Man, it truly explains SO much about so many interactions I've had online, where I just stare at someone's take and go "did we read the same thing??"

It also explains people not reading stories in games, and why people get all their news from video and twitter-length posts. 💀

Your gaming comparison makes me think of how fighting game players need to learn all the complex motions, strings and the mindgame... And once you know THAT, you can rely on intuition in a way that newbies will see as just "Mash the buttons" and wonder why it doesn't work for them.

As someone capable of speed-reading, yeah, it's that. Because I understand the words, I can devour them pretty quickly. If I did not have that understanding (or the text is written weirdly, like when a class had me reading "Pamela"), I wouldn't/can't do that.

It's a skill.

oooh, tough question...

I'mma say yes. Soup is soup, even if the noodles are the star of the dish.

The fact you typo'd it as "HORNT" with a T just makes this so much funnier. XD

I mean, if people keep bothering me, I *CAN* feel pretty deranged.

I still flare up in unholy *RAGE* at the TA that interrupted me, an ADHD student, like 4 times during a midterm to ask if another student could borrow my pencil, then denied me the last 30 seconds I needed to finish my last answer.

Even if there WAS a binding contract, they would not honour it. Not this administration.

The only principles that republicans hold to anymore is "I win, you lose, my boot on your face forever".

They *really* don't care. All we can do is convince everyone else.
