One real strength of @plantdisease.bsky.social is the Public Policy Board. They coordinate information about federal changes and advocate for science policy.

Last week our team went out soil sampling in vegetables as part of a survey project to support root-knot nematode management in tomato and other veggies. Grad student Makayla is searching high and low for those nematodes!!

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

If you are a Cornell Alum, you can vote in the upcoming Alumni Trustee Election.

This vote is important - two of the candidates are right-wing attorneys who will work to enact their political agenda on the university's administration.

My heart absolutely breaks for colleagues getting fired under the pretense of "cutting waste" who are doing things like improving crops, monitoring infectious diseases, and promoting workforce development.

First post :) We had an excellent day in the field this week harvesting a sweetpotato trial looking at management of Meloidogyne enterolobii. This complex trial would not be possible without collaboration of NC Extension agents, awesome grower-cooperators, and the sweetpotato team at NCSU!
