Setting aside the cheeky spelling of “corner,” I love that this sign’s lack of punctuation suggest the existence of multiple Kringles. #editing

Reading Clive Barker’s “Coldheart Canyon” for the first time right now and it’s hitting all the right beats for me. The way Barker eases readers into the supernatural is so masterful. One minute the world is as it should be, but just twenty pages later, you’re ready to accept the extraordinary.

Plotted a whole story, got a fresh cut, and read a brilliant Cat Rambo short story all before noon. I should take Fridays off more often. #booksky

Getting into the holiday spirit with a little themed reading this afternoon. I have no idea where I picked this up. Pinned in 1988 from Avon, I believe it was part of a short-lived series of holiday themed horror anthologies. #booksky

Hoping to watch ‘Fire + Blood’ this weekend while I recover from a small surgery. Allegedly Kentaro Miura’s main character, Guts, was inspired, in part by Rutger Hauer’s performance. #movies #fantasy

Feeling unsettled about the state of the world? Me too. But for some reason reason reading about these alternate versions of the same place have been quite soothing. What’s everyone reading this week? #amreading

A reminder that this is kinda sorta meant to be Seattle. In Dick’s novel, the main action is set in San Francisco, but Deckard administers the test to Rachel at Tyrell’s office in Seattle.

Got the chance to watch ‘Grand Theft Hamlet’ last night—a documentary about two actors who staged a production of “Hamlet” in GTA during the pandemic. It was a joyful, chaotic, beautiful, and surprisingly touching film. Check it out when it comes to steaming later this winter. #filmsky

Say what you will about “Game of Thrones,” but the early season writers were crushing it. I love the little touches of humanity they add here and there. My favorite addition comes from Tywin when he tells Arya that Jamie had trouble reading as a child. That the words “danced off the page.” #filmsky

This was the exact moment I understood what was coming. Just full stomach-drop dread. The panel after of Griffith watching sealed it too. Anyone else have ‘Berserk’ stories to share? #booksky 💙📚

This is a Rory McCann appreciation post because I just saw ‘Gladiator 2’ and they did him so dirty wtf. I have to believe his role was significantly cut down because there is no reason to under-use such a talented actor. #fimsky
