Country lawyer (not really)
I mean unquestionably it was widely available in its final form in 2001

There’s going to be a similar issue in 2007 with In Rainbows, which got a digital self-release in 2007 and then a physical US release in 2008. Given how widespread digital releases had become at that point, and the heavy promotion in 2007, that feels like a 2007 album. I’m sure there are other cases

I remember buying that on CD. Hope we see it in the tourney
December 6, 2025 at 11:11 PM
It doesn’t map perfectly, but I would still go with the year of the first physical release
December 6, 2025 at 11:00 PM
This reminds me of the Dylan 1966 release that competed in the best of 90s tournament. Circulated previously but official physical release was in the 90s

I don’t know if we’re really looking for that so much as the moral sense that blowing up people hanging onto a raft in the ocean is bad.

I have 2 dogs, one of which is a rescue. Most days I wake up, find myself annoyed by something they did, and think “I can’t wait until I don’t have dogs.” Then I stumble across a video of a shelter on social media and think “Just give me all of them.”

Anglosphere really just committed seppuku in 2016 and has been death rattles since

And I’ve always said happy holidays starting November because there are a lot of holidays this time of year (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) and both are fine greetings! Neither has to be a political statement

Gerrymander, start a conflict, engage in voter suppression, outright deny certain election results, ignore an opposition congress and continue to govern by executive order and GOP courts, use the courts to reverse certain key election results

That and they are also all either lifelong bigots, sex pests, or religious fanatics or some combination of the three.

Right but if you accept that as legitimate what prevents that cutoff date from being adjusted, in either direction, in the future. Once you accept that citizenship can be redefined by EO or even statute, it’s always contingent on the whims of whomever is in charge
December 5, 2025 at 9:10 PM
And what guiding principle could possibly preserve that “grandfathering in.” Once citizenship is essentially up for grabs then it is all contingent forever.
December 5, 2025 at 8:03 PM
Hard to see how ending birthright citizenship (and what could possibly replace it) isn’t the end of country.
December 5, 2025 at 7:55 PM
John Roberts is really looking to be Roger Taney 2.0. Wow.
December 5, 2025 at 7:53 PM
That was this year?! Jfc

Like what does he think land is?

I talk to people who fall for pig butchering scams nearly every day. There will definitely be some folks falling for this.
December 4, 2025 at 11:01 PM
It’s a good message and I hope they run on it for the midterms
December 4, 2025 at 10:00 PM
That’s like the main reason to use an IRA

So they got two things that would have been available before the shutdown and which courts have already held were legal entitlements and possible future electoral success. Big win
December 4, 2025 at 5:37 PM
They just had the opportunity to extract something meaningful through the shutdown and settled for exactly nothing. It’s not irony-poisoned to expect an opposition party to actually oppose things.
December 4, 2025 at 5:28 PM
I do believe this is the core of Trump’s Gen X appeal, we were one of the last cohorts where bullying and slurs were common and his message of I will make this acceptable again resonates

I’m an attorney and I have played around with pretty much all of the available AI tools because who doesn’t want to save some time.

They are all terrible.

Every attorney already has templates for those types of docs. Those have been around for decades. You just edit in the template.

There are a lot of straight-up racists and there are a lot of people in corporate media willing to repackage that as “challenging assumptions” to make it digestible in more polite circles
