There’s going to be a similar issue in 2007 with In Rainbows, which got a digital self-release in 2007 and then a physical US release in 2008. Given how widespread digital releases had become at that point, and the heavy promotion in 2007, that feels like a 2007 album. I’m sure there are other cases

I have 2 dogs, one of which is a rescue. Most days I wake up, find myself annoyed by something they did, and think “I can’t wait until I don’t have dogs.” Then I stumble across a video of a shelter on social media and think “Just give me all of them.”

And I’ve always said happy holidays starting November because there are a lot of holidays this time of year (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) and both are fine greetings! Neither has to be a political statement

Right but if you accept that as legitimate what prevents that cutoff date from being adjusted, in either direction, in the future. Once you accept that citizenship can be redefined by EO or even statute, it’s always contingent on the whims of whomever is in charge

And what guiding principle could possibly preserve that “grandfathering in.” Once citizenship is essentially up for grabs then it is all contingent forever.

They just had the opportunity to extract something meaningful through the shutdown and settled for exactly nothing. It’s not irony-poisoned to expect an opposition party to actually oppose things.

I do believe this is the core of Trump’s Gen X appeal, we were one of the last cohorts where bullying and slurs were common and his message of I will make this acceptable again resonates

I’m an attorney and I have played around with pretty much all of the available AI tools because who doesn’t want to save some time.
They are all terrible.
Every attorney already has templates for those types of docs. Those have been around for decades. You just edit in the template.

There are a lot of straight-up racists and there are a lot of people in corporate media willing to repackage that as “challenging assumptions” to make it digestible in more polite circles
