Have some more Quake 4.
A dusty, rust-coloured arena in Quake 4 underneath a darkening sky. A long, unprotected walkway extends out over the dirt floor of the arena towards a red armour pickup floating in mid-air in front of an acceleration pad. A chilly, ice-walled cavern has had dark metallic platforms built into it, and is snaked through with ventilation pipes. A short set of stairs leads down to a glassy ice floor in this room, with a pair of fluorescent light fixtures above the ice being reflected on its surface. Derelict, corrugated hallways covered in grime curve round a narrow alley below, ropes strung between the walls above heavy with moss. A pleasantly geometrical room made of bricks and stone slabs is supported in its centre by four metal pillars situated around a walkway between alien archways inscribed with glyphs and lit by torches.

Been playing more Quake 4 lately for inspo, and am sad I slept on the game's multiplayer.

It's amazing what mappers created with a tweaked Doom 3 engine, like I feel like some might have passed on the game because of the perception it was still a grimy corridor shooter engine, but it's got range!
A grimy, futuristic industrial interior in Quake 4, large fluorescent lights shining down through a slight smokiness in the air as several hallways lead away from our point of view. Several ledges loom above a broken edge with a glowing jump pad tacked onto the break is situated next to a canyon wall peppered with light vegetation. A sewage pump in the upper right corner of the image pours a liquid something into the canyon. An achromatic "noir"-style village alley descends into a futuristic Strogg portal while a bluish quad damage powerup floats above it. A poster pasted to a brick wall behind the quad damage features a man shouting something into a phone, captioned in Cyrillic. A smooth, twisting cavern is illuminated by hanging braziers and the reddish glow of jump pads that step up to a higher point in the caves. A blocky grey crystal to the left is surrounded by red-and-white polka dot mushrooms, as is proper for a cave in a video game.

Shot in the dark, but does anyone know what this coffee maker's brand actually was? Is it based off a real product, or was it kinda bashed together?

A small stone courtyard in a Doom 3 multiplayer map framed on three of four sides by cylindrical columns and enclosed past those columns by walls of uneven stone blocks with torches mounted on them. Stone stairs lead down into the flat dirt of the courtyard while a swirl of lights and sparks near the player indicates a teleporter.

The "Phrantic" map in Doom 3. From a yellow paint-marked industrial ledge, a pit of molten lava steams below, crossed by a walkway with a red industrial barrel standing way too close to the edge of the lava pool. A shimmering blue teleportation sphere is tucked away in a nook across an adjacent lava pool, with a plasma gun floating in front of it, available to grab.

Think of the utterly deranged mind that will look at these screenshots, and think, "You know what this game needs? RTX. Why hasn't someone ported this to UE5? What if we fed this into an AI?"
A Quake map featuring a canyon-like concrete alcove with an ornate diamond-shaped design lit by a single light as if the structure itself had one steady, unblinking yellow eye watching over a small pillar capped with a red computer display in the centre of the alcove. A concrete tower looms above the scene, piercing the muted grey sky. A sickly green mist permeates the air of this broken castle courtyard, moss-covered blocks scattered on the ground, leaving gaps on the sides of a central support arch, and holes in a bridge that spans overhead with two dirty and thick iron chains strung astride it. Stained glass windows are seen in some of the façades in the surrounding castle walls above, proffering a warm, inviting glow, contrasted with the gore splattered underneath the support arch from eldritch monsters freshly dispatched. Graced with serene cerulean pools and waterfalls, a grand floating island lingers in late daylight among heavenly clouds, with two large domed and open-arch towers with wreathed spires jutting on either side of a central temple lit with torches. A curved staircase snakes over the side of the island precariously before ascending back to the central temple. An altar-like square cauldron filled with molten lava hosts a ring of lit candles on its rim in a dark industrial room with support struts angled and leaning to the centre of the room. Tattered banners painted with mysterious runes and a recognizable Quake 'Q' symbol dangle from above. At the far side of this metallurgical pit is a circular portal that shimmers and swirls with a black cosmic oil.

Going for the throat.
A section header reads, "Security of the Canadian infrastructure and capacity" with a survey question asking "What are the emerging security risks associated with AI, and how can Canada proactively mitigate future threats?" My response states "Generative AI being incapable of thought while companies convincing government and businesses that it can do things like spreadsheets will create disruptions that will be normalized across society if generative AI is widely deployed and integrated deeply into our infrastructure. Generative AI creates a media environment that is difficult to impossible to sort out what is real from what was generated, making civil life more dangerous, affecting voters negatively, even so far as destabilizing the entire government, as is seen in less developed nations like America."

A survey question asks "What can Canada do to ensure equitable access to AI literacy across regions, demographics and socioeconomic groups? i.e. collaboration with other levels of government; role of industry and private sector, educational and literacy strategies to foster informed confidence. My response is: "If you all supported schools equitably across regions, demographics, and socioeconomic groups, this would not be a question that needed asking."
