right now, a loophole in US law has resulted in some intercountry adoptees slipping through the cracks and NOT receiving US citizenship. these adoptees have grown up and spent their whole lives in the US, and should be treated the same as their naturally-born siblings.

make it make sense. intercountry adoptees, adopted and brought to the US by US citizens, should be granted US citizenship and allowed to live and work freely as US citizens.

With the recent rise in ICE & CBP raids across the country, targeting non-citizens and citizens alike, it’s important for transracial, transnational adoptees to be prepared for potential interactions with immigration officials and/or agents.

Since the 2024 elections, we’ve received an increased volume of emails, DMs & calls from adoptees (both with & without citizenship). The anxiety our community is feeling is palpable, & we hope to provide info, space & community for people so they feel better equipped & know they aren’t alone.
