Albertans are witnessing the deathblow to fair and equitable HC access right here, and all without even a discussion to see if there is a mandate for govt to do this.
This is not hyperbole or fearmongering.

Let's pick 10 quick highlights🧵:

When asked if she would take any responsibility for the Tylenot™️ scandal she created...

She blamed a former leader, a leadership race & a byelection.

Smith was elected leader in Oct 2022

She won her byelection in Nov 2022

The purchase was in Dec 2022

Today, Danielle Smith will unveil Alberta’s new vehicle license plate that features a slogan: “Strong & Free”.

Smith will surely argue that it is featured on Alberta’s coat of arms however, we all know that’s it’s a dogwhistle for separatists and, is new plate a priority?

If you want a COVID-19 vaccine in Alberta this is what you now need to do:

1. "Pre-order" by Sept. 30: bookvaccine.alberta.ca/vaccine/s/pr...

2. In the fall, remember to book a public health clinic appointment. (No more pharmacy shots.)

3. Pay. (Prices not yet announced.)

4. Attend appointment.

If your son or brother admitted that he and his teammates had sex with an intoxicated woman, would you think, well as long as it was not illegal in a court of law it is acceptable? That is the difference between right and wrong vs criminal law.

When Alberta nurses apply for Workers' Compensation Board benefits for PTSD, the board must now assume the stress was caused by their work unless proven otherwise. The change means nurses will no longer be forced to wait for — or be denied — benefits after experiencing traumatic events on the job.

It’s more than the Boyle Street Curse.

*crosses 💜*

I swear. It’s more.
Then they hired Stan Bowman.

These two issues are the reason I no longer cheered for the Oilers as of this season. After 50 plus years.

Pros: inexpensive, easily found materials locally or online, more effective than HEPA air purifiers

Cons: take up a fair amount of space, kinda ugly (can be made cuter with creative shroud design and coloured tape), box fans can be noisy

Pros definitely outweigh any cons for breathable air

Set ours up again today, cute cat not included.

The UCP is facing 8 investigations into corruption, plus no fewer than 3 major public sector union strikes (all of their own making).

The affordability crisis looms, as does a trade war with the US.

As I've said before - I don't want tax cuts, I want well funded and supportive social programs to help everyone in society.
My brother @sethdklein.bsky.social with another banger column!

A real Elbows Up plan would attack inequality - show that all Canadians are in this together!

Ie, tax the ultra rich to help take care of everyone.

Of course, only the NDP is calling for this.
