ppl not familiar with the italian musical scene don't know how much we waited for this. time passes, in a couple of weeks I will turn 30, but niccolò contessa is still holding our hands. we grew up with him, we're growing old with him, and i'm so grateful

Now reading Close Reading by David Greenham in this beautiful brat green cover by Einaudi. Very fun and easy to read, and tons of insights -- some of them are pretty much translatable to scientific writing: ambiguity is a category of thought, we should embrace it at every level

I recently read Ways of Seeing in the translation by Maria Nadotti, and it’s truly wonderful. Berger's writing is so lucid in raising questions that are still part of our present. I highly recommend the original docu series as well

Maybe this one - and not Savage Detectives or 2666 - is the best entry point for Bolaño. Then move to all the rest.

So excited to see this out, heroic effort by the brilliant Sara Mederos, uncovering the detailed brain mechanisms of how animals learn to overcome their instinctive fear responses, from neural circuits & cell types down to synaptic plasticity mechanism! www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
Overwriting an instinct: Visual cortex instructs learning to suppress fear responses
Fast instinctive responses to environmental stimuli can be crucial for survival but are not always optimal. Animals can adapt their behavior and suppress instinctive reactions, but the neural pathways...

Do yourself a favour and listen to these works
LE42 is now: four works of deep wonder, reflection and grace.

Fennesz’s summery day decay;
Tujiko Noriko’s quiet, levitating radiance;
Natalia Beylis’ aquatic dreaming;
whait’s Americana reverie and minimalism.

Thank you.

1988, Stella Rossa-Milan 1-1. Sul Marakana scende la nebbia e Donadoni muore per un minuto. Il resto è storia.
A me, che comunque sono interista, le storie sul Milan fanno sempre un po' commuovere
