Married to a neurodiverse wife, with neurodiverse children. I have ADHD and advocate for ADHD.
Yesterday I had a telephone appointment with a GP for a referral for a medicine review for Lisdexamphetamine meds. I haven’t had one since Dec 2023. GP didn’t want to prescribe meds I have been on for 7 years, but I advocated for myself. Getting my meds tomorrow.

If the government won’t admit Brexit’s damage, an independent Royal Commission must.

Good piece from Chaminda, and from what I can tell, govt isn't exactly learning from its past mistakes

Very limited (if any) outreach done since - not just on the specifics, but to address the really widespread anger and frustration that spilled out indirectly with the welfare rebellion
Labour MPs who voted against welfare cuts this summer have warned that plans to change disability benefit assessments could trigger another mass rebellion

Others called for a vote to be delayed until a review into the assessments is complete

‘Motherhood penalty’ costs women an average £65,618 in pay by time first child turns five.

This is followed by gender pay gap, pension gap, health gap; slow career progression, harassment and violence, unpaid carer work, retirement insecurity.

All women deserve justice.

The neuroprotection of stimulant medication for ADHD in children with #ADHD by Dr Barkley. I can attest to this, seeing how my son has improved in the last 18 months. My son has been on stimulant meds since age 4. Neuro protection properties of #ADHD meds only benefit kids.

After clashing with Maurice Glasman recently, I've come to realise just how pernicious he and his Blue Labour movement are. We could discuss his chumminess with Steve Bannon and JD Vance, endless pandering to the far right and evident hatred of the Labour left. But there's something even worse. 🧵

I don’t understand this at all. The rhetoric about getting disabled people does not match their actions.

I think we need to really see how Amanda Spielman lied in her response to @nataliegreenpeer.bsky.social. It was appalling.
Every time we’re told schools are improving because of exam results, I ask: what about pupils’ well-being? If we only measure grades, well-being will suffer.

Just thinking govt borrowing at nearly 5% is a big pull for reeves
But why didn’t Osborne borrow a trillion pounds at 1% in 2015? And invest in infrastructure people roads etc. interest on that would be less than 10 billion today?

So the big error was not borrowing enough in the decade of madness
