I created another gallery in my kofi of raindrop photos. One of my favorite things is the way raindrops collect differently on each leaf and flower.

I made an album in my Kofi gallery that's just butterflies and moths. I'm going to spend all growing season trying to get photos of every single one I see in the gardens. They're free to look at.

Happy spring equinox, everyone!
May your days be full of wonder and joy.
May your gardens grow and produce abundant harvest.
May you know safety and peace.

It's supposed to be rainy and cool on the first day of spring, so we celebrated today by removing a bunch of invasive honeysuckle from the wild strawberry patch, planting peas, saying hello to dozens of pollinators, and playing in the sprinkler.

I planted more seeds, today. Some inside, some outside. Dill, parsley, basil, carrots, chard, sunflowers, tomatoes, mystery pumpkins, wildflowers. I also transplanted two lemon balms that needed new homes. I love spring.

Garden update: lettuce, peas, chard that survived the winter, radish, and carrot are all doing amazing. Spring is almost here, we're only a few weeks from last frost. Some lovely growth out there.

POV you're walking through the gardens and look up to see the peach blossoms have opened.

My kid has a sorting game with 25+ colorful mini muffins and all parents reading this will know what happened next:

there are muffins
everywhere
under my pillows (not theirs)
in the recliner
in pockets
in corners
under shelves
under feet
muffins
in
every
room
muffins everywhere

Weather's changing.
Spring is coming.

I'm sure it'll be fine
that our 'dear' leader
(a rich, selfish man)
will let us starve and die
if it means a rise
in the profit line.

Struggling hard, tonight. Thankful for flowers and the buds on trees in spring.

Four weeks until the Spring Equinox!
February 22, 2025 at 12:10 AM
The coral honeysuckle and red maple have started putting out buds. Peas are poking up through the leaves and my chives are suddenly 4" tall. My oregano, thyme, sage, rosemary, lemon balm, bronze fennel, and lavender are all sending out new leaves. I love spring so much.

May I have the patience of trees
the flexibility of water
the strength of mountains
the comfort of a gentle breeze.

Congratulations to US agriculture zone 10, you've made it through the winter freezes.

Zone 9, you have about 4 weeks until your last frost.

Zone 8, you're about 8 weeks out.

And don't worry, cold zones, spring is coming for you, too. 🌱
