I've always appreciated that Arlington also has its little copy of Dallas's Park Cities with Pantego and Dalworthington Gardens

the side streets along 2nd street are littered with garages right next to alleyways 😮‍💨 half a block's frontage, just gone

NLTC is a wonderful spot to put more buses; unlike Crestview, which immediately surrounded by residential and commercial uses and has a vacant city-owned lot immediately adjacent to it, along roads managed by the city

specifically annoyed at how the 18 just passes by MLK station without making this tiny diversion

I know it's not a long walk, but it's just more friction than there should be for this connection

I think capmetro should just abandon NLTC entirely and consolidate with Crestview

- 323, 383 divert south to Crestview
- 350 terminates at Crestview
- 1, 801 start to use the Lamar underpass
- 1, 801 stop inside the Crestview Station (negotiable)

The only immediate "benefit" NLTC has vs Crestview is that it's closer to 183, so maybe express busses on highways could better use it. But....it's not even that much better by that metric

It's still a 5-15 minute detour at rush hour for 35N traffic. Crestview is 5-20 minute detour

the area around NLTC just...sucks so bad. The connectivity is awful. Even if you build a pedestrian overpass over North Lamar like Project Connect is planning (and this segment is 10+ years out), going south will just be a miserable experience of frogger across several frontage roads
November 9, 2024 at 7:39 AM
Every route that feeds into NLTC has at least one direction where it's just wildly circuitous going through. This maneuver can add 5-10 minutes at rush hour to the 801

There's not really any way to improve any of this without getting state approval and building an expensive overpass

I appreciate Chicago's commitment to installing phone-shaped grates all over the sidewalks. I'd appreciate it a little more it the holes were less phone-shaped
