This is part of the plan. It's a trap.

The Trump-Musk feud would almost seem fake if both of them weren't completely consumed by their own egos. It's just so fucking stupid.

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Q: "How do you respond to Governor Newsom?"

Sen. Van Hollen: "I think Americans are tired of elected officials or politicians who are all finger to the wind...Anybody who can't stand up for the Constitution and the right of due process doesn't deserve to lead."

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to function amidst all the chaos and unconstitutional acts. Just simply getting my kid to ballet class seems weird and counter-intuitive against the burgeoning dystopia.

I really wanted to see this. but it hits at an inconvenient time for a lot of folks. The people in my general circle and region don't need a sci-fi allegory depicting an exploitative anarcho-capitalist kleptocratic hellscape because we live it every day.

Bong Joon Ho and Robert Pattinson's sci-fi comedy 'Mickey 17' is getting a cold opening at the box office.

I knew this would happen. He's coming after those of us who pursued a career of service because of an assurance that we would be taken care of. My employers had already been certified, but that probably won't matter.

We've crossed the Rubicon here. This is one of the most blatant and grotesque power grabs in history and the parallels of other fascist and authoritatian states throughout history is clear. This needs to be challenged in the courts immediately.

Purity tests for Democrats during an assault on the civil infrastructure accomplish nothing. Your focus should only be on Republicans to start putting Trump and Elon in check. Dems have been blocked every time they tried to reign in the chaos. Protest votes and an empty sack are worth the sack.

It's weird when an older generation is hateful toward their kids' generation. As if the kids aren't just a combo of that upbringing, and the inconsistent efforts by those children to deprogram the toxicity of said upbringing. It wasn't too prevalent in my family, but I see it all the time elsewhere.

In much brighter news (ironic considering), NIИ tickets have been acquired for the August show in Baltimore. I got a pair of solid mid-high tier seats as this will probably be the last time Trent will tour, but also... I'm old and want to sit.

I live in a blue state with Democratic senators and congressional reps. I'm confident they'd resist the current administration's agenda if they had the numbers. If you live in a red district or state, please visit congress.gov/members to find and contact your lawmakers.

The whole point of this is to settle scores, to be cruel, to flood the "enemy" with anxiety and fear. The fact that enough Americans have never grasped the evil in this man is one of the greatest failures in our history and I am not sure how it's going to be fixed.

Listened to a @milkepescs.bsky.social episode about professional organizers and their industry. I have half a mind to start my own organizing consulting business but do it as a Tyler Durden theme instead of Marie Kondo's nonsense. Please don't steal my idea.

There will be many temptations to react to evil deeds, immorality, unethical behavior, disinformation, and trolling in the next 4 years. Remember that all of this chaos is the feature, not the bug. So I invite everyone - nerd or not - to remember the 190th Rule of Acquisition:

I wanted to see The Brutalist in the theater as all the reviews say it's a gorgeous film, but then I saw its runtime. With trailers, that's at least 4 hours without an intermission. Either shorten films or give us a bathroom break, FFS.

Whatever you feel about Biden's presidency, legacy, or hypocrisy, he's still a father. If I were in his shoes, I would have done the same thing for my kid if they were paying an excessive price for a non-capital crime because their father was politically important.

I must explain to my daughter over the course of the next 4 years why voters chose incivility and hate over kindness and governance because the costs of things were high. While I struggle with finances too, I don't know how to forgive my fellow citizens for this burden.

I am still going on Facebook occasionally and seeing so many examples of my own liberal and progressive friends not quite getting that the need for media literacy isn't just for the other side. We need to reevaluate how we consume news and interrogate our biases collectively.

Well, it looks like a lot of folks are moving to this platform. I have decreased my activity on Facebook, canceled my X account and only go on Instagram to post kid and dog photos.
