More than 3,300 years ago, an unknown Egyptian wrote a love poem: clear, pure, mysterious. This translation by Egyptologist John Foster brings it to life in a way that leaves me breathless.

i don't really have the emotional bandwidth to engage with this right now so i'm just going to say that we don't have to put up with this as a society.

if the rules don't let us make it illegal, we can change the rules. this should not exist.
Holy fucking shit

Remember the GoFundMe for the koalas during those terrible wildfires, when the world was just sobbing and feeling helpless?

Well, thanks to everyone who donated *so much* that an entire breeding program has begun. It's still a hard read, but so much hope.

My 8-year-old made their own version of the game Life, and it's way more accurate than the original. The path is convoluted. The rules change on a whim (but always in favor of the game's creator). The real estate is outlandishly expensive. The jobs pay either $9K or $999,999K. The goal is unclear.

Remember darlings and darklings:

Don’t yuck another reader’s book tastes. You don’t have to read it or buy it. You don’t even have to vibe with it. You just have to not be disrespectful about different tastes 😘

I've had a bestseller before. I've also written books that are fully me doing my own thing. But I just realised this will be a first: a book that's fully me doing my own thing AND is being published by a publisher who doesn't piss around, pays its authors and prioritises getting books into shops.
THREAD. My new novel will be published on Sep 11th. You can pre-order a signed 1st edition w/free intl delivery here: blackwells.co.uk/bookshop/pro...

All pre-orders MASSIVELY help it get into shops.

IMO it's the best book I've ever written.

At one point, I thought it might be lost forever....
