Nope, no russets at the market today AT ALL! (Strange for October.)

Other good stuff tho.

I _think_ this is the strangely watery Fallawater apple, though I've seen them more blushed

Hey boys and girls, are these Calvilles underripe? Can I cook with them?

I told the farmer I thought they looked a bit too green, was I wrong?

They have triangular pips that are rather large for a smallish apple

Some apples are naturally skinny. Also, apples can be extra thin if some or all of the seeds do not develop.

One of the former:

I still have a few heritage apples in my fridge from the fall.

Except for the Arkansas Blacks and the GoldRush, it is really too late for these.

But they are still good cut up into my oatmeal or otherwise for cooking.

Otherwise it's supermarket stuff now.

Posts about actual apples use mostly concern cooking (including smoothies etc.). A small number are about eating an apple. That is kind of what I am looking for, but it is all good. 3/7

My bluesky beat is #apples. I blog about them. Here's what I'm seeing this time of year here on bluesky.

Spoiler alert: Not a lot of actual apple skeets. Hopefully different in season! 1/7

Not a complaint rather a personal challenge

An impressive stone monument to the Baldwin apple stands today in Wilmington, Massachusetts, near the site of the original tree.

Have you gotten your winter keeper #apples yet?

Today is last call for many orchards. (*But not all.)

Act now or be at the mercy of your supermarket's produce department this winter.

Good #apples are delicious, but it's their stories that really capture my imagination.
