A lot of contemporary cultural output is cynical IP management — a company buys an artist’s old song catalogue and orders up a biopic to try to revive interest in their new assets.

Regarding AI and writers, it strikes me that I still haven't seen anyone mention Asimov's 1990 short story "Fault-Intolerant" (PDF p. 129), wherein he fears... this scenario! Talk about prophetic.

FFS. I’ve always resisted making fun of A LITTLE LIFE’s cover, having heard the book is depressing and assuming that even if it *looks* like a man taking a long-awaited dump, he’s probably dying or something.

Is he hell. The photo’s named “Orgasmic Man.” That dude’s cumming.

The crime of genocide didn't exist until after WW2. It was something we decided was real, needed to be identified and punished. Even if we've been spectacularly bad at putting it in practise, we conceptualised it.

I think it's about time for a CEO crime of murder-by-Economy.

This is the first comic I got in trouble with my parents for owning. They’d thought Spider-Man stories were a lot more kid-friendly than Carnage’s debut proved to be. 😄 #Comicsky #Spiderman

Share a TV series you’ve watched from beginning to end more than once.

(I’ve only done this with one series—but I’ve seen it thrice.)

I stayed up late last night finishing @joe-hill.bsky.social’s KING SORROW, and barring any last-minute upset, it’ll be my favorite novel this year. Fun, emotional, epic: It’s the kind of book that makes me glad I SFF. Highly recommended. #Booksky #fantasy #horrorsky #books

I attended Atlanta's #NoKings march yesterday with @dzgrizzle.bsky.social and his boyfriend Michael. We saw @warnock.senate.gov and @staceyabrams.com speak, which was unexpected and cool.

I left feeling energized, but also obligated. Our country's sliding into fascism. We must act. #StopFascism

Happy Brand New Comic Book Day! I got ABSOLUTE BATMAN 12, BATMAN & ROBIN: YEAR ONE 11, ABSOLUTE SUPERMAN 11, and DEADPOOL/BATMAN.

Embarrassingly, I got Marvel’s DEADPOOL/BATMAN thinking it was DC’s Morrison-written BATMAN/DEADPOOL. 🤦‍♂️ Ah, well.
