My brother and I are sorting out my late Mum's belongings.
In Kincorth, Aberdeen, 1973, this was THE party album in oor hoose.

Up in Aberdeen for my Mum's funeral.
Happy to see red squirrels are absolutely thriving here, several sightings in urban parkland, as well as out by the crematorium.

Father's Day card to my Dad, 1966. That's one of my main childhood memories, Dad unconscious on the settee every Saturday afternoon, the TV still on, empty cans or bottles all around him, smelling of beer. If you woke him, he'd swing at you. I don't think you can buy a card like that nowadays.

Just found out the local care home charges £7180 a month.
That's £86,160 a year.
And apparently they also get council subsidies.
I am truly shocked.

Almost everyone on the BBC Board was appointed by Boris Johnson, only Samir Shah and Deborah Turness weren't.

Why is this still the case?
Why are we still seeing biased reporting, biased interviewing and biased omission of news.

Can anyone tell me?

For over 20 years there have been press reports that Tony Blair is a "plausible psychopath".
He was an instigator in the Iraq War, that led many thousands of deaths.
He destroyed the BBC as we knew it and made it a govt mouthpiece.
Now he is in talks about him running Gaza. ☹️

Racial profiling is now completely legal in the USA. This includes not only what language you speak or what colour your skin is, but also what accent you might have.

The Tories have pledged to intensify the extraction of oil and gas in the North Sea.
Reform have promised the same.
May I remind you all this was the oil and gas that was running out in 2014. share.google/fSbZ2CD7inuB...

Quite a remarkable system. As well as CO2 free energy, clean drinking water from sea water will be part of the process. Not weather reliant, could work in Scotland.

I think I have reached the point where I loathe social and alternative media as much as I loathe mainstream media. Nowadays, one is just a ghastly reflection of the other, spouting lies and corruption.
Fuck Edward Bernays, his playbook, and anyone who willingly uses it.

I had to verify my age for BlueSky this morning.
I would have thought that a glance at my profile picture would have been enough.

For over 20 years I was a working class man with a direct manner, working in broadcasting, but I always kept my trousers on.

I was at the GP this morning and saw a new doctor.
"Where are you from" she said, "that's not a local accent".
"Aberdeen, but I've travelled a bit and don't have a pure accent" says I.
"I'm from Inverness, I was born there, but raised in Oita, Japan, so my accent isn't pure either", she replied.
