During the meeting, an exchange occurred between Alderman Bob Bauman and MPD Inspector Sheronda Grant over whether or not open container laws are enforced.

“This ​is ​the ​first ​that ​has ​been ​brought ​to ​my ​attention ​regarding ​that,” said Grant.

The body of missing 22-year-old Eliotte Heinz has been found in the Mississippi River near Brownsville, Minnesota.

Heinz had been last seen on Front Street in La Crosse early Sunday morning. An autopsy is underway to determine an official cause of death.
