They tried to beat United out and you said no, no, no?

I love photos like this. Do you do this by bracketing?

Found your profile today. Can't wait to use these photos as inspiration for my upcoming trip to Italy.

It’s a great photo

Lots to love about it

It’s immediately clear that she is a fixture at Goodison. The scarf, the cigarette, the expression, and the quilting on her coat matching the brick.

More bad photos than good for the first roll, but I imagine that's normal.

Fun and rewarding way to take photos. Drew many stares and felt like an insufferable hipster, but can't wait to get out and shoot again.

Couldn't shoot a roll without the best subject. @lizlamela.bsky.social in Miami Beach. Another photo that feels to be from another time.

The lighthouse worked out to be a good subject. Lots of light in the Sunshine State and the camera and film seemed to bring the tower back to its construction in the 1800s.

For my first roll I used Kodak Tri-X 400 pushed to 1600. I figured b&w, high-grain images might make up for some user error in the compositions.

This is the Cape Florida Lighthouse in Key Biscayne.

Lots of firsts: external light meter, keeping fingers away from the cocking lever, waist-level finder.

The hardest part was composing with a mirrored viewfinder.

22% of America doesn’t speak for all Americans.

America wasn't "built on obsessive nationalism" and the patriotism isn't some aberration.

America is nearer the peak of empire so there's more national pride.

Edwardians were waving the Union Jack.

The Romans never shut up about Rome.

Napoleonic French loved France.

Ah. Well, America is unquestionably in a dark place.

But America is too large and heterogenous to make generalizations like this.

Lots of foreign commentators don’t have any grasp of this.

Only 20% of US pop. voted for Trump and he was twice beaten.

Many of us are livid and trying to fight back.

Trent is such a liability in the defensive third. Multiple mistakes in and around the box that almost led to goals.
