And…#bonsai #2. Still looking at the structure with this one as it needs some further refinement, but at least it’s no longer root-bound

Sunday timeline cleanser: spending some time transforming a root-bound juniper into a new #bonsai. A work in progress

An absolute pleasure to spend the morning with former Prime Minister & current Ambassador to the US, the Hon Kevin Rudd, our Fletcher School commencement speaker.

A couple of days late, but it was mind blowing to hear Brian Cox speak during his latest “Horizons” show. Can highly recommend. @briancoxtalks.bsky.social

Some light reading for the next few… um, I guess… years…?

A couple of inches of snow overnight, which unfortunately is already starting to melt so I had to capture this #bonsai pic before it’s all gone. 🫠

The past 72hrs in #globalhealth have been turbulent to say the least.

In the midst of all the uncertainty, if you’re like me I’m constantly inspired by the beauty of nature so I thought a timeline cleanser of #bonsai in the snow or a stunning tree from Acadia National Park might help.

A relaxing arvo checking out Old San Juan with a lovely lunch and walk around the historical sites…capped off with a tropical downpour…thank goodness I brought quick dry gear 🤣

Homeward bound. Visiting Thailand is always a pleasure, but even more so this time around given the #OneHealth science/policy discussions at the Princess Chulabhorn Congress. Good to reconnect with a few folks while also meeting a bunch of new people. 🙏🏼

A truly lovely evening with Professor Dr HRH Princess Chulabhorn at the official conference dinner with traditional Thai dance performances & the Navy orchestra. HRH is a scholar, leader & Ambassador for #OneHealth

Waiting His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s arrival to address the 9th Princess Chulabhorn International Science Congress on the Challenges of #OneHealth. A special day.

Wonderful to be back in #Thailand to participate in the 9th Princess Chulabhorn International Science Congress.

This year’s conference theme explores the challenges of #OneHealth & I’m thrilled to be speaking/sharing some research on #AMR governance. 🙏🏼

Today on #UHCDay it’s important to remember Universal Health Coverage is fundamental to achieving a safer, more prosperous life. If you don’t have UHC in your country, it’s time to call on your #government to step up & fulfil their promise of the social contract.

UHC = #healthsecurity

This #Friendsgiving take some time out to relax & recharge the batteries before the final rush in the lead up to the holidays.

First attempt at pie-making for #Thanksgiving. This morning’s initial batch of pecan bourbon pie is out of the oven & cooling while the cranberry citrus meringue (part 1) is still in the oven… I’ve missed baking 😉

A lovely way to take a short break - going for a walk along the waterfront with a view of #Boston. It’s already been a big week with giving talks on #AMR, #DSI - #GSD law & governance, but not done yet with the Fletcher School Conference on Gender & International Affairs kicking off tomorrow…

Happy to be speaking on the state of #AMR global governance at Fletcher School today at the start of #WAAW2024 where we’ll be discussing national action plans & the actions of the Quadripartite in supporting Member States.

Lovely day visiting colleagues at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Grafton, discussing #OneHealth issues.

I never trained to be a vet, but couldn’t imagine a better place to study - just being on campus was relaxing 😉

There’s days in #academia when you feel you haven’t been productive (i.e. today where I spent all day extracting data to generate four tables), but the small details often prove important (e.g. revealing 194 govts’ progress in implementing #AMR surveillance systems).

And then you go for a walk…

A beautiful Boston day with a definite feel of winter on the way! Time to wrap the #bonsai for the coming cold months 😉

Not only was it wonderful to be back in Singapore, but I got to participate in this panel with #globalhealthsecurity powerhouses Ebere Okereke, Emmanuel Agogo & Nahid Bhadelia discussing the intersection of hygiene & GHS. Many thanks to the organisers, RGHI & Chatham House

We’ve listened & heard you #globalhealth folks! So we’ve extended the #GHS2024 Abstract deadline by a further two weeks. No need to panic 😉
