I LOVE THE STARS I love the stars, but most don't mean that much to me. Most names elude me. Some apparent magnitudes are so faint that they can't be seen by eye or, even, by machine. Most azimuths and altitudes are too aloof to be reviewed, and stellar spectra often lean toward the lean. But, helplessly, I love the stars, as stars love night— which is, of course, to say that they too love that which they cannot see, since astral bodies forge the light and know but one unbroken day.... -Anthony Etherin

However, thanks to our swift response and the support of our labor partners, we successfully obtained a temporary order preventing DOL from sharing any data with DOGE. This order remains in effect until the court rules on the temporary restraining order. The DOGE will continue to visit but should not be accessing anything. Keep your eyes and ears open. I *am* enjoying the Pasta Demon! (Here it is with alt text so even more people can enjoy it)

Most importantly, between "Pasta" and "Amore" is a depiction of what must be the mascot of this small business, some sort of lasagne-headed man eating a bowl of pasta. A cropped and enlarged shot of the mascot in the previous picture. It has a square of lasagne for a head, with blank black eyes and a mouth opening in a meat layer. The "man" is twirling some noodles (spaghetti?) on a fork over a bowl of pasta with sauce and maybe meatballs. For some reason, this entity is clad in a bright green polo shirt buttoned to the neck. Perhaps it is for the best that the depiction ends at the waist. To be completely clear about what is happening in this image, the Pasta Demon is consuming a pasta dish. Surely this counts as cannibalism.

This is the most depressing thing I've read today (so far). Reposting with alt text.

Not far away on Highway 70, hundreds of people lined up outside the Pisgah Brewing Company with jugs and bottles in hand, waiting for water that has been so hard to find. Nearby, someone discovered that an 18-wheeler wrecked during the storm was full of bottled water, and dozens of people came to grab cases and hand out cases to others, until police officers arrived and shouted for them to leave.
