This isn’t environmentalism it’s just common sense.
The cacophony of gas powered leaf blowers begins at 7:30am in my neighborhood and finally subsides after dusk. I’m not full blown NIMBY on them, but there’s definitely a better way.

Waste or resource?
Instead of blowing leaves to the curb they are raked almost silently into our dormant veggie garden serving as a soil amendment and cover to keep the topsoil in place. Plus extra browns for our food scraps compost tumbler.
In spring, matted leaves are a decent weed barrier.

Household prices from March 2025. Some areas of U.S. are up 20%+ since then but this shows relative per kWh prices globally. End-user electricity is highly subsidized in the U.S. at the infrastructure level, and hardly taxed. Essentially keeping input costs low increases GDP.
