So finally done some messing around with #UnrealEngine5 quite surprised how easy it was to implement dashing and double jumps, the latter was essentially builtin. I want to get a small scene setup over the next while to set a tone for this project.

No longer scuffed, I've got proper portal rendering going. Now the next thing to do is to "enter" the portals, shouldn't be overly difficult. Also plan to implement physics "soon"™️

The borders are a little scuffed but making good progress here I think. Finally got some recursive portal rendering working. Took quite a bit of time to figure out and still needs a little work.

Finally wrangled #tinygltf into loading #gltf files and I managed to get things rendering. Now can worry less about added model data as code. Now to make the previous scene with gltf files instead.

So now we got a bit more dynamics in this little game idea. The end idea will be you get X amount of time to
attack or defend, a time based mini-game would then be used to determine total damage. Hoping to get a better example up soon but this is tonight's work

It took me quite a bit to figure out some AI issues but it was down to a misunderstanding about how #beehave worked. Now I use two decorators to do an infinite loop after the player has been detected.

Enemy object has just been growing more and more which I find fun to look in on, when it eventually gets some proper geometry and animations I can only imagine how large it will get. I am using #Beehave for the AI which is a great free addon for #godot .

Added an "alerted state" to the enemy AI, and I'm quite happy to be back working on this project. I want to have an actual level to run around in at some point. I've been rolling around ideas in my head but we'll see what I decide to go with.

So after a small hiatus from programming had a small idea for a game based on the idea of blocking attacks with timed button presses. Made a small visual mock up of the timer, and going to try add some combat on top of that shortly.

Took a little break from the game jam to get AI pathfinding to work and after some frustration I got it to find a decent path towards the player. Godot has made finding these paths pretty damn easy but did not predict my level of buffoonery

Day 3 was certainly more productive, next to add is dragging and damage to the player. I've had some change of mind for how the game functions so we'll see how that turns out.

Using actual assets now, so I'm making some more progress, next up is going to be getting my lovely enemy (capsule) to move around and attack the player. Won't be many updates on this for a little over a week due to the #bevy game jam.
