There is much to grieve this week. I don’t believe you need to find a silver lining in every trial, but last night I met online with 30 folks from our diocese across the Southwest and Mexico, and we learned church history and prayed Compline together.

Dude, caregiving for a disabled and medically complex kid is a freaking wild ride. One moment we’re giving meds and water through her g-tube like usual, and the very next moment, we’re suctioning blood from a nosebleed from hell for an hour straight. Who needs coffee with this kind of adrenaline?

Yes.
If we wanted a healthy country, we’d start by firing RFK Jr.
RFK Jr.: We are the sickest country in the world. That's why we have to fire people at the CDC.

"Go to an old cemetery. See all the baby graves from before the 1950s & 60s? After that, hardly any. That's when people started vaccinating their children. If you're unsure what to do to protect your kids, the answer is literally written in stone." — Michael Okuda

How quick we forget.

Guy Patterson would be so disappointed in what a terrible dad Adam Fisher is.

Went to Costco, got a 79¢ Coke (we bless God the Pepsi is gone), and while I was checking out, they notified me I qualified for executive membership for a small prorated fee. I now get to shop one hour earlier than other Costco members, and nothing can bring me down today.

“The baptized have pledged their allegiance to Jesus Christ, not the pentagon…”
There is no Christian theology or eschatology that can justify man-made starvation.

Even if people are viewed as enemies, the Scriptures still tell us what to do:

“If your enemies are hungry, feed them.”

The baptized have pledged their allegiance to Jesus Christ, not the Pentagon or the IDF.

Ever wonder where the tomato on your July4th burger comes from? These Central Valley tomato harvesters spend hours bent over under the sun harvesting. On an average they lift around 170 buckets a day. Each bucket weighs 25 Ibs. It's exhausting, physical labor. WeFeedYou

Insanity. Infuriating. #savemedicaid
People in wheelchairs are getting arrested right now in the Russell Senate Office Building in DC. They showed up to tell Congress not to cut their Medicaid, because they cant afford health care without it. If you look closely you can see the zip ties on their hands. #WeWontGetOverLosingMedicaid

I shamefully don’t watch basketball, but as an Oklahoman, I’m loving the OKC pride filling my timeline. Also, Braum’s. I can feel the joy all the way over here in Colorado. ⚡️🍦

Amen.
Trump is a rabid dog with no regard for the law.

Once again it’s time to pray Mary’s Magnificat. Lord, cast down the mighty from their thrones. Exalt the humble. Fill the hungry. Send the rich away.

Grief upon grief in this country right now.

“…We have erred and strayed from Your ways like lost sheep… we have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against Your holy laws… apart from Your grace, there is no health in us.”

They’re freeloaders (but they’re kidnapping them at their jobs) and they’re a burden on the country (but they’re using their tax info to track them down) and they’re only trying to deport the “illegals” (but they’re seeking people out at immigration hearings)

I’d be grateful for your prayers for my daughter (10) who is having some prolonged medical issues after a recent hospital stay. She is disabled and her healing is never linear. ♥️

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone who has a tricky relationship to this holiday. Maybe it’s not that happy, and that’s quite alright. There’s room for it all.

Good morning. I welcome prayers for my daughter this morning, who has been in the hospital for 12 days now recovering from aspiration pneumonia. I’m weary and ready for all my people to be under the same roof again.
