My mom had a really bad accident this summer and it meant that I missed the @cbbworld.bsky.social show here in Chicago. My dear friend told Scott and today, the day before my birthday, my friend gave me this. Thank you @scottaukerman.bsky.social for more than you’ll ever know.
Up until yesterday, when people asked what part of Chicagoland I live in, I asked if they knew where @jimmypardo.com is from. Now I can ask them if they know where Jimmy Pardo AND the Pope are from. Very weird to know the Pope likes the same pizza place I do (Aurelio’s).

Very sad to hear that Brian James has passed. I used to put “The Lord’s Prayer” by Lords of the New Church and this song from the first Damned album on mix CDs in high school as a little tiny baby punk. RIP.

I just went to DC for my grandma’s 96th birthday and I got to see @jasonnarducy.bsky.social and friends doing nearly 3 hours of REM at one of my favorite venues in the country (9:30 Club). But this non-REM treat was a lovely little VU surprise 🍌

I just took my first trip of 2025 (after a 2024 that can go to hell with gasoline pants on) so I’ve already got approximately 27 bags of trail mix, all open and spilling, in my carryon. We’re back, baby!
