The United States men's national team will play Paraguay, Australia and then one of Slovakia/Kosovo/Türkiye/Romania at the World Cup on home soil next summer.

Wondering how they got there? It's a bizarre and funny story.

I've written a book about it.

The beautiful of soccer is that it is a 90-minute game that takes two hours to play.

The horror of the FIFA draw ceremony in D.C. is that a 10-minute process was dragged through this joke of a ceremony for two hours.

MIKE LUPICA | The idea that Steinbrenner the Son somehow doesn’t spend enough on his team happens to be nuts. It’s as tired a narrative as the one about Yankee fans being spoiled.
Mike Lupica: Hal Steinbrenner isn’t the reason the Yankees aren’t winning the World Series
It is absolutely fair to wonder sometimes how much Hal Steinbrenner really loves baseball, or loves being Boss (2.0) Steinbrenner of the Yankees.

But in her email to cops, she was more blunt: "Do the mayor-elect and I agree on everything? No, we don't."

‘Brooksie,’ as he was known in rinks across North America, who had dubbed Henrik Lundqvist ‘The King’ as a young Ranger, was a king himself.

"Stand" ... I still remember listening to this on my Walkman on a flight to visit my grandparents down in Florida over spring break. Wasn't like anything I was listening to at the time. The kind of song that gets stuck in your head (but in a good way).
