what we have rn isnt the best and we are working on ways to improve it, its just veeeeeery difficult to not anger at least one group of people after every single change

initially TX was added because high/top level started joining the server, but then we had to work out how to appeal to that crowd which ultimately disrupted how other tiers worked. its a big challenge to keep everyone engaged in it without it feeling somewhat gatekeepy.

i dont really know what we can do about this though - the scene is built around such a format and we wanted to have the server appeal to high levels as well which basically requires us to gatekeep it

and i now wanna just distance myself entirely.

the server still exists and is active but now this whole thing leaves a really sour taste in my mouth regarding the server. like we tried our best, but since now not only have people ridiculed the server so much but wings actively leaked the chat during it all... just makes us look villanous

apologies about my comment about misinfo - was genuinely just frustrated because i felt like we were being called out for not doing somethin we were doing. seeding is really hard to get right

btw i hold no hard feelings to wings or anything even remotely like that, im just pissed off cause we really fucking tried our best to cater to the most people as possible, only for it to come crumbling because of some unnecessary callout post that makes us want to double down more than anything.

we make mistakes and seed people weirdly. but given we are doing seeding at all, we *have* to make those decisions.

like its one thing to feel upset about your own seed but
given just how hard it is to look at stuff like this, look at recent results only and then seed from there, using plus as a guideline and trying to exclude times you were playing with people you wouldnt normally, i think its justified that

also bonus point - seeding is fucking difficult. its stupidly hard to try be accurate and equal with things and we have corrected a LOT of peoples tiers since we retiered people. i know it looks gatekeepy but given the format we literally do not have another realistic choice.

telling us to watch several games of splatoon by people for the sake of ridicule is excessive but also a massive waste of time for the seeding council.

i wasnt in the conversation when you suggested this but i can already tell itll just hammer home the fact its plus 2.0 but also be super demoralising to those players who get voted out by watching gameplay.

you also heavily overestimate the time we can realistically spend on something like that
