We found a new owner for him who loves rotties and has kids excited to have a new dog. We made the handoff today and now have only to clean up where he sued to live. It’s been a long road of transition, so we knew it was coming. I can’t forget how difficult he was but still… sad to see him go.

Heph was a rescue we got 2 years ago. I had a Rottweiler as a dog growing up and love the breed. We got Heph very soon after our older dog (Juno, a GSD mix) died very suddenly from cancer and a ruptured spleen. Heph was rescued from abandonment and came to us as a sprightly young (<1 yr) boy.

I don’t post very often, but today is worth a thread. Today we relinquished our dog, Hephaestus (Heph) to a new owner because we are taking overseas accompanied orders and he cannot follow. It’s a sad day, but also good to know he’s going to good hands.
