i coulda swore I responded to this yesterday, but I guess not.
I can try, but at my size, thrift shops and are far less likely to have stuff that'll fit let alone anything of good quality. I hadn't considered surplus stores, but it will likely be the same situation.

yeah, in the morning when I got on the train I think it was like... upper 30s, so I still want a coat for sure.

not extremely heavy but like... i want to be warm enough to walk around downtown chicago in the winter lol.
the problem is that for a guy my size, even all of the canvas jackets i've seen are polyester lined.

THEY SURE ARE. In the half a mile-ish I walked from the office to the train station, and then the transfer, it felt like someone poured a whole bottle of water down my back. at least this time of year I have a coat that covers it.

it was rhetorical yes, but i'm open to suggestions as well. the problem is i just sweat too damn much even when it's 30 degrees outside, with the coat on. (side effect of one of the drugs I take). i've bought probably 5 coats in the last couple years with no luck
