In my previous retail life I was written up when the store failed the scanning/pricing part of the store audit and I wasn't even involved in pricing integrity and I think it was like 8 errors out of 100. A store with a 76% error rate means they just didn't change tags for months on end.

Elon Musk shows the high tier risk when paying the fines is easier for companies than complying with the law but it also lets smaller stuff like this or environmental damages happen with a slap of the wrist.

Anyways I hope post-2026/2028 there is a focus on raising fines for businesses.
