Really liked Cat Pictures and this was anr easy read but...the characters here were very flat, and I called the mythological creature the second it was introduced.

Not bad but not my fav by this author.

Today's and Yesterday's: Signs of Life by Sarah Pinsker

This one was WILD. I spent the longest time waiting for the sci to fy, and when it did, it was like..."What the hell?!"

I think it got wrapped up a bit too quick, but I quite liked this one.

Today's: “Loneliness Universe” by Eugenia Triantafyllou

Oooph. This was well written and I read it on on jot, but it feels so on the nose about modern society, and I can't decide if that enhances it imo or just regurgitates COVID feelings. Well-constructed.

Unusual story structure, which I am always a slut for. I recommend listing to the audio version from Lightspeed, which is pretty neat in how it is accomplished.

Overall a strong start, and I think it will be hard to beat.

Also at 17 minutes long...It makes good use of its time lol.

I liked this one! The story is about an alien species attempting to teach humans their stories, to try to preserve their culture.

I also like that they have a very buff, masculine guy like Kiba be FIERCELY protective and loving his considerably more delicate, thoughtful, quiet son.

So many games at this point would have them at loggerheads, but Suikoden 2 shows them being loving and accepting of their differences 😭

It’s not surprising to me I have a brain gremlin for gangster men with unhealthy parental relationships with their children, but it is weird to me that it happened twice in a row with dudes with fucked up eyes and a penchant for badass subordinate women and popped collars lol
