Wow—the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention (named after Raphael Lemkin, a Holocaust survivor who coined the term genocide) says plainly:

"No more discussions, meetings, reports, sessions, summits…IF YOU HAVE THE POWER, YOU MUST USE IT."

"HISTORY WILL DETERMINE THE RECTITUDE OF YOUR ACTIONS."

What’s happening in Gaza is not a war. Calling it a war is a deliberate attempt to obscure the truth.
Let’s name it up.
It’s a barbaric slaughter, a genocide, a mass murder. And Labor has made Australia complicit.
End the genocide and free Palestine ✊🏼🇵🇸

Just do it!

And by 'Just do it', we at Nike mean, 'Cave to genocidal Zionist pressure from The Australian to cut a contract with Grace Tame, former Australian of the year, for daring to believe in the humanity of Palestinians.'

Super inspiring shit. Complicit cowards.

In case you’ve ever wondered - no I do not like Bill Henson and the recent article in the Australian affirms my position.

Also now that the election is over can we reinstate Sabsabi and Dagostino? Perhaps it’s too late…

Glad Dutton is gone. Now back to protesting the Australian complicity in the ongoing genocide of Palestine.

Relieved Dutton’s out? Handy reminder: Albanese’s Labor government is, at best, complacent, at worst, complicit in Israel’s genocide. Gaza is being bombed, starved, ethnically cleansed. Voting out morally bankrupt leaders isn’t enough—we must still hold power to account for the most vulnerable.

It feels odd to post things that aren’t political but I’ve realised the more I shit post in combination with sharing information, the more attention the important posts can get 🙃

Khaled Sasabi speaks. Movingly and distressingly.

Creative Australia's leadership should listen. And then resign.

Until that happens, the organisation has no credibility.

My most recent Substack post btw: open.substack.com/pub/accident... it’s basically long-form journal writing, nothing clever.
On…biting my tongue
I desperately want to whine about the most recent art debacle in my life.

Wanted: readings about Fugitivity. Not The Undercommons (obviously?). I’ve been thinking about fugitive desire a lot. Specifically in the realm of ARIs.

I have an exhibition opening on Thursday. “It’s all we have” - Portraits of friends. I haven’t exhibited solo in…many years…collaboration has always been the key to my practice…now I think of it, it’s not really solo when friends trusted me to create these images of their things. Nice.

I’ve been thinking so much about writing that I haven’t written a word and instead have used all decent brain energy on simple considerations.

I need to re-write my PhD proposal, and be proud of it, but I just don’t think that will ever happen. So for now, I will co tongue to be paralysed by my own ineptitude.

I think I’m ready to lean back into my paying deep attention to AusPol. Back to QAndA and question time as the background noise to my art making. I’m sure that’ll help me settle into my new (basement) studio.

Let’s talk about class babyyy
Let’s talk about the fact you still need to send your physical work to enter the Archibald. An artist told me they recently forked out 1k for their art prize lottery ticket. Can’t imagine any working class artists could afford that. (Thoughts 2 b continued on substack)
