This bill requires the Department of Justice (DOJ) to publish (in a searchable and downloadable format) all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in DOJ's possession that relate to the investigation and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein. This includes (1) materials that relate to Ghislaine Maxwell, (2) flight logs and travel records, and (3) individuals named or referenced (including government officials) in connection with the investigation and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein. DOJ is permitted to withhold certain information such as the personal information of victims and materials that would jeopardize an active federal investigation. Additionally, not later than 15 days after the required publication, DOJ must report to Congress (1) all categories of information released and withheld, (2) a summary of any redactions made, and (3) a list of all government officials and politically exposed individuals named or referenced in the published materials.

What's more, they've made the model more efficient in Ukrainian - by adjusting the tokenizer. What's that? Imagine learning a new alphabet for a language you already know, one that's quicker and easier to write, and you can get the jist.
What is known about Lapa LLM According to the developers, Lapa LLM is different in that when it was created, the tokenizer was completely rewritten for Ukrainian. 80 thousand out of 250 thousand tokens were replaced, thanks to which the processing of Ukrainian-language text became more efficient. Now, one and a half times fewer tokens are required for the same tasks, and therefore fewer calculations. In terms of speed of work with Ukrainian, it bypasses the original Gemma and most closed models of a similar class, say the UCU. In benchmark tests, Lapa LLM showed the following results: Translation: the model achieved 33 BLEU on FLORES for the English → Ukrainian direction and showed a high result in the reverse direction. Image processing: in the MMZNO test, Lapa LLM was among the leaders among models in its class in terms of accuracy in recognizing Ukrainian-language captions and image descriptions. Summarization and Q&A: demonstrated stable work with large texts, preservation of context, and accuracy in answering questions — a level suitable for RAG-type systems. Propaganda detection: The model showed consistency in identifying manipulative narratives and biased wording, confirming the quality of data filtering during pretraining.

The last several months have seen some amazing developments in Ukrainian open source AI. I'm just catching up! This was really something I felt Ukrainians had to set the level on.

This "antipropaganda-safe" dataset is awesome! I've got some ideas for how to help. 😁

The mystery is why Schumer keeps flirting with capitulation in exchange for nothing. Democrats have the political momentum, Republicans are divided, and a majority of voters blame Republicans for the shutdown. Schumer himself faces a likely primary challenge for his own Senate seat. He is even more vulnerable if he presides over a Democratic capitulation. Equally bizarre is Shaheen’s game, since she is not even running for re-election when her term expires in 2026. She is on the Appropriations Committee, and part of the weak Republican offer is to pass the appropriations bills that have gone through the committee on a bipartisan basis. Clearly, Shaheen is more concerned with getting those bills done than using important leverage to protect the signature Democratic legislative achievement of this century. Even when Schumer and centrist Democrats have been dealt a strong hand, these are the sort of players who would fold a royal flush.

Some tips: 👉 Make one call a day maximum to each of your representative's office. Repeat callers make much more impact! 👉 Be concise; this isn't to persuade the representative, it's to get counted. This is more poll than speech. 👉 Ask officials to talk to other officials. They have more access to each other than most of us constituents. 👉 If you're in an organization, consider spending your last moment on the call to ask for a contact to arrange an in-person meeting with your representative. You want to show them that networked groups of people pay attention.

The researchers' design includes a SOAR system in each layer of the power station: the substation, the control room, the enterprise layer, the cloud, or the security operations centre (SOC), so that the SOC and the control room work together to detect anomalies in the network, whether it's an attacker exploiting a vulnerability, a malicious device being plugged into a substation, or a physical attack like a missile hitting a substation. The idea is to be able to isolate potential problems and prevent lateral movement from one device to another or privilege escalation, so an attacker cannot go through the network to the central IT management system of the electricity grid. There is a tendency for power plants and grid operators to stick their heads in the sand, perhaps due to a perception that what’s happening in Ukraine isn’t going to happen to them, but they do need to take the threat more seriously, the experts added. One cybersecurity expert, who is researching critical infrastructure in Ukraine and does not wish to be named, told us that things have changed since the start of the Ukraine-Russia conflict – now power stations have built "redundancies, within redundancies, within redundancies" of additional cables between substations, and therefore it is difficult to overwhelm the whole national grid when a missile attack hits a substation. Things are playing out in a different way to how russia and other governments thought they would.

SHARK ====================== This is a new brigade-level UAV capable of performing aerial reconnaissance and fire control tasks at a depth of more than 30- 40 km behind the contact line. The «Come Back Alive» team was actively involved in the development of this UAV. The manufacturer took into account suggestions related to the practical aspects of using the UAV in combat conditions, i.e. the quality of signal transmission, resistance to enemy electronic warfare, etc. THE UNIQUENESS OF THE UAV lies in the use of a domestic video module, which is not inferior in quality of data transmission to foreign models, but costs much less. Another advantage is maximum automation. Thanks to this, crew training takes much less time than with existing systems of the same class. In addition to the aircraft and ground remote control stations, the Shark systems donated by the Foundation include vehicles. The terms of reference for the vehicles were also developed jointly with the Foundation’s staff. It is a minibus on an all-wheel drive wheelbase with additional engine protection, autonomous power supply, and air conditioning system. The vehicle is equipped with separate workplaces for the crew, a special system of fasteners for cargo transportation, communication equipment, etc. The Foundation’s instructors oversee the process of training crews before release of the equipment and provide support in the combat zone if necessary. In 2022, 25 Shark unmanned aerial systems consisting of 75 UAVs were purchased.
