Actually Keith, a GameCube costs about $100 nowadays.

Brie Larson as Rosalina is pretty reasonable.

Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr gave me a feeling I haven’t had since September 23rd 2021.

They've been "safe to consider canon" (Ian's words) ever since Frontiers, so it seems like they'll be introducing comic characters to the games whenever there's a place for them and they won't need story context to understand.

I remember when the Japanese-only Switch 2 with the lower price was announced I saw people saying that while it's cheaper by exchange rates, it was pretty much the same buying power as the international price.

"Technical" vs "practical" value, essentially.

Seems like in Nintendo’s mind the Switch has “normal” and occasional “premium” priced games, and then the Switch 2’s $80 price ceiling was them just moving that whole scale up $10.

Honestly, I’m pretty sure MKW is only the full $80 to establish it at launch.

Might be since TPC is handling it in Japan.

Company’s never met a corner it wouldn’t cut.

We're 100% getting a trailer within the next 7 days (Wicked comes out in less than 2 weeks), so it's not hard to imagine this just slipped through the cracks.

I couldn’t imagine giving it higher than a 6/10.

Genuinely might be the most self-sabotaging game i’ve ever played.

Personally, I think “bad” is too strong a label, but if I’m not engaged by about 90% of a game, and it’s also doing it’s best to keep me away from that last 10%, I probably won’t call it “good” either (regardless of how much I like that 10%).

I always get annoyed when the “leave the billion-dollar corporation alone” memes get whipped out, but it seems like some people here absolutely refuse to believe that a lot of people just… organically don’t like the game.

That moment when your misinformation wires cross and you claim Hitler saved Germany's economy with Socialism.
November 7, 2025 at 11:57 PM
The problem is that Heisei's international rights started getting nabbed while they were pretty new, so the legal claims to them have ended up a lot messier than the other eras.

Always a treat when someone says something like this and shows they can’t understand a message unless it’s spoon fed to them in exact wording.

…at which point they complain about “everything is political now”.

If there’s anything you don’t need to be closely keeping track of, it’s bugs and how they’re being solved.

Can’t wait for the next year leading up to midterms being filled with establishment Dems denying that people want real stances over the sound of Stephen Miller screaming that they’re dangerous extremists.
November 5, 2025 at 4:53 PM
There was a Japanese magazine spread (I think that’s what it was) that laid it on pretty thick that Silux will have some kind of a “reveal” about who or what he is under the suit.

Including bundles, which is why the game has around a 95% attach rate so far.

Once the bundles are off shelves we’ll find out how well Mario Kart REALLY sells at $80.

A lot of times a cohesive look can feel better than a selectively "better" look.

There’s a lot of disgraceful things that have happened in this country over the last 10 years, but anti-vaxx becoming a mainstream political position might unironically be one of the worst.
October 31, 2025 at 4:17 PM
Someone was pointing out it might have to do with how they render transparency.

It’s pretty common (especially on Switch-level hardware) for things to slow down when effects fill the screen, so if alphas are handled like that it would make sense.

He helpfully pointed out to me that the well-documented round hitboxes and flattened-out physics in the Crash remakes actually just aren’t real.

This whole time I thought Crash regularly slid off ledges he could land on in the OGs, but turns out it was my imagination all along.

To quote B-mask’s fantastic video on the N. Sane Trilogy: “is that a nitpick? Because that’s someone’s JOB, man…”

Wish I could say the same about the pro controller.

It would need to incorporate the layering error though.
