I thought I’d share a photo from one of our sites on the MD black bear project. A big male and female pair hanging around our snare. They both were a bit pre occupied to go in, except the female was more curious. Fingers crossed she comes back and goes in. Some younger bears went in though!!

We started building hair snares yesterday! Black bear hair snares will be used to determine density and movement estimates that will better understand the Maryland black bear population. I have a team of 10 and so far they are dedicated wonderful humans ❤️

I’m working to create a website that houses resources for all groups being impacted by the Trump admin and continuously being targeted by the far right. Conservation/science/our public lands are all being attacked and so our most of our neighbors. (I will add alt text when I get to computer)

My dog child has insane storm anxiety. I have to leash her up to make her calm down and have a thunder coat. Well I just bought a happy hoodie to help her too. Omg look at her!

I thought I’d post these here since I’m slowing fading away from X/twitter. I finished my master’s degree this summer. I studied coyotes and it was a rollercoaster. I’m grateful for the friends I made at Ohio State and the lessons that come with my time there.

Presented a week ago about coyote diet niche breadth and overlap! Went to Alaska to hang out with other Mammalogists at the #IMC13 conference. I’m a scientist yay!

First little post. Hi I’m Abby! I like carnivore ecology, specifically behavioral ecology and how we can use it to mitigate human wildlife conflict! I study coyotes for the time being. I also really love my dog.
