It draws on Theory of Loose Parts, modular design, heuristic play and Situationism to create an open-ended environment for exploring objects, materials, sound and identity.

Thank you. I hadn’t seen this.

That’s a bit weak. It disregards the flippant tone of the blog, and its failure to acknowledge Reform’s prejudiced ideologies. Yes agreed they should address this publicly.
September 16, 2025 at 12:45 PM
No. What did they say?
September 16, 2025 at 12:40 PM
Yes, well done. You did some good work there. Very appropriate turn of phrase “something went wrong” indeed.

Right on cue …baseless opinion stated confidently as though it’s empirical fact with a healthy dose of homophobia. No one who has influence in the early years sector should be validating this man www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...
Nigel Farage claims ‘most stable relationships’ are between men and women
The Reform UK leader was accused of ‘vile homophobia’ after claiming that heterosexual relationships ‘last the longest’

Yes. Although I do think some kind of statement from them would be appropriate at this point.

It’s been taken down now. LEYF have not responded to this situation anywhere that I can see.
September 15, 2025 at 5:12 PM
Right then, so nothing really. I went to refer to what was said about it in June O’Sullivan’s blog post, but it’s been taken off the website.

Just spotted my own typo. Was supposed to read “fascists”, not “facials”
September 15, 2025 at 2:47 PM
No, of course. Im fully aware they are doing, and heartbroken by it.
September 15, 2025 at 10:15 AM
I wouldn’t want to detract from everything LEYF have achieved. I’m a huge admirer of their organisation. That’s why this is so baffling and unsettling.
September 15, 2025 at 9:48 AM
Yes, agreed. Education and care can’t be separated from politics. Socialism gave us much of the pedagogy that we have today, rooted in empathy and equality.
September 15, 2025 at 9:40 AM
Exactly. That’s exactly it for me. I don’t want to live in an echo chamber and am all for professional curiosity, but the tone of this piece when there are thousands of facials rampaging through the streets of London is awful.
September 15, 2025 at 9:38 AM
Grinning selfies, and pictures of funny cars. This speaks volumes about the troubling forces at work in the EY sector, glorifying individualism and prejudice in the name of activism and feminism.
September 15, 2025 at 6:07 AM
No mention of Farage’s well documented tendency to state baseless opinions as though they are facts. Justifying all of this in the name of “March of the mums” without acknowledging the mums and their families who are being persecuted for their race and culture.
September 15, 2025 at 6:07 AM
No acknowledgement of the disgusting racism, misogyny and transphobia that underpin this party and its supporters. No connections made to how flags and hate speech and racist violence will negatively impact the children attending your nurseries.

🤔 Do you think anyone would fund it? Is it time to abandon my current proposal? 😅
May 26, 2025 at 7:50 AM
I could go on and on, but I’ll stop now.

Floaty things? Animal-related? Colourful stuff? And of course loose parts, which could also describe most of the other items featured in this thread? A broad church.
